Lenni Lenape Indians in Glenolden. There is a giant rock that hangs above Muckinipattis Creek in Glenolden. According to lore, it was a traditional council rock for the Lenni Lenape Indians. It was given the name “Raavacoola”. Supposedly it was named for the daughter of tribe leader Chief Secane. This is located along the creek behind Glen Manor Apartments.

I first heard about it as a kid. Never gave it much thought. Only recalled it after coming across mentions of this spot in old newspaper articles. What I once thought were just stories as a kid was based on real things. Wonder what else out there might be more than just a story.”
I have added portions of articles and links from Daily Times articles talking about this Lenni Lenape Indians in Glenolden. Check below. For more Delco awesomeness click here.

This is extraordinary. When I was a kid I would play back there, had a vivid near death experience there as well. Things are slowly starting to make more sense to me.
